Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is the only museum in the United States devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design.
The Museum is housed in the former home of industrial magnate and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie on Fifth Avenue in New York City, designed in the solidly comfortable style of a Georgian country house.
The Museum reopened to the public in 2014, having undergone a complete renovation of its landmarked building designed by Diller Scofidio and Renfro and a reconceptualization of the display of its collections.
