The richness and diversity of the artistic production of the Arab dynasties that succeeded each other in Egypt are described in over 20 thematic areas in one of the largest and oldest museums of Islamic art in the world, now completely restored and renewed after many years of decay.

A discreet approach to the museum fittings leaves the magnificent forms and colours of the over 2500 objects displayed at centre stage, and at the same time integrates harmoniously with the “neo-Islamic” style of the building, one of Cairo’s historic structures.
