The refurbishment of the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich has enabled the rehanging of the previous Gobelins tapestries made by Raphael for the Sistine Chapel. The supporting structures, studied and engineered by Goppion, hold the tapestries in an inclined position to reduce the stress on the material and assure the best conservation conditions. For special events, a motorised mechanism makes it possible to place them in a vertical position and enable a correct and aesthetically more pleasing vision.
