Mario Ciampi

Mario Ciampi (Florence, 1951) is a graduate of architecture. At the start of the 1980s, he decided to dedicate himself to photographing architecture and interiors especially. He has worked for Casa Vogue, Casamica, Case da Abitare and Casa Vogue Antiques. For Sotheby’s, he effected the photographic documentation of the interiors of important historic homes before the sale of their contents.

The desire for a broader audience for his images led him in 2003 to open a publishing house in London called Verba Volant. He produced about 20 books for the publishing house, mainly concerning the hime, garden and contemporary art. Among these are two volumes on classic Italian interiors and a book resulting from the visit to about 50 contemporary Chinese artists and the documentation of their places of work. Since 2009, he has documented new shops for the Prada group, photographing about 80 shops around the world.

Since 2012, he has also been involved in the press campaigns of the Flexform sofa company.
