Built over the remains of a rich, well-preserved Gallo-Roman domus, the museum comprises a series of balconies overlooking the archaeological site, enabling a spectacular view and perfect integration between the monumental structures and articles on display. The architecture is very contemporary, with a wide use of glass, steel and cement, highlighting the relationship with the surrounding landscape and ancient monuments it contains. The display cabinets, simple glass bells without profiles and with a low display level, suggest the position of the articles when they were found in the excavation.
